About the Website

Hyper Photo Cube is a site about three things

  • Hyperblog
    • My Blog on things that interest me, Photography, Macs etc.
  • Photography
    • I take pictures, so here is a place to share some of my work with the world.
  • Thinking outside the Cube
    • Think outside the box, comics, short stories, poems and whatever creative media I can think of.

The idea for the site came from the concept of hypercubes, a mathematical concept related to multi-dimensional objects. As scientists move forward in their understanding of dimensions we continually display our 3-dimensional (4 if you count time) would in 1 (sound), 2 (photos) & 3 (video) dimensions. At least that is my take on the concept.

About the Photographer

Tesseract (Graeme Hay)

I first took pictures with film, however didn’t get into photography seriously until the digital age. With digital I am able to capture wonderful pictures while the worry of how much film I have no longer presents itself. I’ve moved from Pentax Film SLR to HP P&S to now - Nikon D80 (Best of Both Worlds P&S and Pro SLR).

I am open to taking pictures of…

  • Random Stuff Events & Gatherings
  • Underwater & Aquarium Shots
  • Nature - Macro to Landscape Portraits
  • Friends and Family, Random Strangers
  • Modelling - Costumes, Special Attire, Location Posing

Equipment I use…

Primary Camera: Nikon D80 - DSLR

  • 18-70 F3.5-4.5
  • 70-150 F3.8 with Macro @ 70mm
  • 200mm F2.8 500mm F8

Secondary Camera: HP PhotoSmart 618 - P&S

Studio Equipment:

  • Cactus Triggers & Nikon CLS
  • 3x Flashes - Nikon SB-800 - Sigma 420EF - Manual Hot-shoe Flashes (Image, Black’s, or the Vivitar)
  • 1x 300w Background Light
  • 1x 200w/s Bogen Monolight
  • 2x 9ft Light Stands
  • 1x Light Kick Stand
  • 38″ Gold/White Reflector 1x Silver Reflector

All of my photos are Copyrights Reserved by me, if you want to use one you must get my permission first. I’m pretty open to their use (I have had 2 in a magazine before) but I’m strictly in the camp of compensation, except for a bona-fide charity and “Time For” Model work.
